Galveston 4th of July Parade (July 4, 2024, TBA)
If you happen to visit Galveston for the 4th of July, set off straight for Seawall Boulevard to breathe in the incredible atmosphere of this unique event in league with locals and visitors. Here you can witness the cherry on top of all 4th of July celebrations in Galveston Island: an unbelievable free evening parade. The parade lineup enters 22nd Street and Ave P at about 6 pm. The parade route goes from Seawall Boulevard at 22nd Street to 45th Street, featuring a procession of performers, floats, decorated military vehicles, and much more. But the lineup kicks off at 4:30 pm.
Galveston Fourth of July Fireworks Over The Gulf (July 4, 2024, TBA)
The parade is usually followed by a 20-minute flashing fireworks display lighting up the sky over the Gulf of Mexico. The show is sponsored by the Galveston Park Board of Trustees. It takes place near Seawall Boulevard and 37th Street and is accompanied by a live concert. If you have an idea to tip back a cocktail while observing the spectacle, there are several bars around the boulevard for you.
