Best time of year to visit Gran Canaria

The third-largest island of the Canaries has the average annual temperature of 24°C (75 °F). The weather there is perfect almost all year round. However, the period from May to November is known as the best time to visit Gran Canaria for the warmest sea, an abundance of sunshine, and the phenomenon known as the 'sea of clouds'. Late summer is perfect for stargazing—an experience that shouldn't be missed on the Canaries. In September, visitors and locals enjoy Fiestas del Charco. October is the best time for trekking in the mountains and participating in Gran Canaria Walking Festival. Winter brings perfect surfing conditions, Christmas customs, and almond blossoms to the island. Early spring in February or March attracts visitors who want to see the colourful Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival.
