The first month of fall is still very warm and suits perfectly for visiting New Zealand. The mellow temperature in the Northland of the North Island fits for any outdoor activity. The Bay of Islands and Lake Rotorua are still good for a beach trip with swimming and fishing. Auckland and Tauranga have comfortable temperatures in March.
