You know summer has come, when the Formula 1 Grand Prix rolls into the city. The Montreal Grand Prix is the most prominent Canada's sporting event, which attracts over 100,000 spectators per day! The race includes three days of competition, charm, class, and world-class parties.

Canadian Grand Prix History

Gilles Villeneuve was a first Quebec native winner in Montreal who drove a Ferrari. He is one of the first people inducted into the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame and is the only Canadian winner of the Formula One Canadian Grand Prix so far. In 1982 Villeneuve was killed on a final eliminatory lap at the Belgian Grand Prix. A few weeks after the accident, the race course in Montreal was named Circuit Gilles Villeneuve as a tribute to the racer.

Montreal Grand Prix is not just about the race, but about a whole city coming to life with excitement. 2024 Schedule

Montreal Grand Prix begins at 9 am on Friday, June 7, with the practice sessions for Porsche Carrera Cup North America and Ferrari Challenge. FIA - F1 Car Presentation will start at noon. In the afternoon, viewers can see more Formula 1 and Ferrari Challenge practice sessions.F1 Experiences Track Tour & Trophy Photo start at 7:15 pm. The actual racing will begin at 8:15 am on Saturday, with the First Qualifying Session of the Ferrari Challenge, followed by Porsche Carrera Cup North America and Formula 1 Qualifying Sessions. At 2 pm, viewers can see the First Race of Ferrari Challenge (40 Mins +1 Lap). The Porsche Carrera Cup North America First Race starts at 5:55 pm.

Sunday, the last day of the championship, begins with the Second Race of Porsche Carrera Cup North America at 9:40 am. It is followed by the Ferrari Challenge Second Race. Formula 1 Drivers Parade starts at noon. The main highlight of the race, the Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada (70 Laps or 120 Minutes), starts at 2 pm.

Tickets

Make sure that you book your tickets early, as they sell out quickly. The best viewing area is Grandstand 1, in the heart of the action, across from the garages and pits. In 2024, Grandstand 1 tickets are $740 for three days. Other good seating areas include Grandstands 11 and 12, providing a great view of "Senna” corner and several turns. Tickets there cost $610. Grandstands 15, 21, and 24 offer views of the “Hairpin” turn. And the Grandstand 34 is located inside the hairpin! You’ll have a great view of the entry and the exit of the "Hairpin." Tickets in these sections start at $400. General Admission tickets start at $110 for one day, providing no reserved seating, just standing along barriers and fences. In addition, there are many VIP options and club seating lounges. The VIP Starter Package is $1020.
