Each period on the island has its pros and cons, but May through December is deemed the best time to visit Mauritius. These months provide deserted beaches, cooler temperatures, and stronger winds—quite a pleasure for surfers and kitesurfers.
On top of that, the accommodation prices in summer are significantly lower. After the coldest months of July and August, the temperatures start to rise gradually and the number of sunshine hours begins to increase. This makes the period between September and November the most comfortable on the island.
As the hot summer goes on, the level of humidity rises vigorously, attracting crowds to spend time at the beach. Even though Mauritius sees its heaviest rains during February and March, summer conditions suit perfectly for diving and popular deep-sea fishing.
