First planted in Bangkok and then best growing in the North, longan is one of the most exported Thai fruits. Reminding lychee in shape and taste, it used to be a delight for the common people. Its pulp is slightly tart and sweet, which gives it a unique taste favoured by so many! Most famous variety is a pink longan and it is mainly produced in Chiang Mai.
