Norway's largest cultural celebration takes place in Trondheim around Nidaros Cathedral, which is the burial place of Norwegian patron saint Olav Haraldsson. Attendees can join Norwegians in their annual tradition of gathering around the holy site to honor St. Olav, with festivities extending from late July to early August.

Olav Haraldsson was later canonized as a Saint due to the miraculous events surrounding his remains. Most Olavsfest events are conveniently located in Trondheim's city center and are easily reachable via public transportation. While parking spaces are available in the city center, please note that none are specifically reserved for Olavsfest attendees.
