Dubuque Air Show & Fireworks takes place during the 4th of July weekend in Dubuque, Iowa. The beautiful city on the Mississippi River has been holding the annual Fireworks Spectacular and air demonstrations for over 35 years. The event also features Presentation of the Colors, where the names of local heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice during operations in Iraq and Afghanistan are read in Memorial.
Various activities are planned during the festive weekend at McDonald Park, next to the Hawthorn Boat Ramp just below Lock and Dam 11. Kids can enjoy games and inflatables. Attendees can also get a free American flag to wave it proudly during the air demonstrations. The pilots are able to see people waving to them as they make their jaw-dropping stunts.
Previous highlights of the air show included performances by the US Army Golden Knights, USAF A-10 Warthog, Full Throttle Formation Team, Mike Wiskus and his Lucas Oil Pitts Plane, Iowa Army National Guard Chinook Helicopter, Phillips 66 Aerostars Aerobatic Performance, The Vanguard Squadron, and Missing Man Formation. The day ends with a breathtaking Fireworks Spectacular after dusk!
