Rose City Airfest is a popular air show attracting aviation fans from all over East Texas. Presented by Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation, Rose City Airfest is usually held at Tyler Pounds Regional Airport around the Independence Day Weekend. The proceeds from the show benefit Camp V, Tyler, an all-inclusive veteran’s support center in Tyler, Texas.
Rose City Airfest offers a diverse lineup of aerobatics and ground displays. Past performers included WWII Warbirds, Randy Ball’s on Russian MiG17, demo teams for the A-10 Thunderbolt, P51 Mustang, and the Aeroshell Aerobatic Team, a B-29 Superfortress “Doc,” and many more.
Ground displays of vintage, military, and modern aircraft are available at Historic Aviation Memorial Museum (HAMM). Tickets are needed for general admission to the airshow. A child, aged 12 and under, can get in for free accompanied with an adult ticket. Concession stands will feature various foods and beverages for the visitors.
