There is no better way to spend a summer weekend in the Detroit area than sampling various kinds of beer in scenic Ypsilanti area. The Annual Michigan Brewers Guild Summer Beer Festival hosts about 150 local breweries offering to sample more than 1,000 craft beers. There will also be lots of food stalls and live music from Michigan bands.
The Summer Beer Festival is the oldest and largest of four seasonal festivals initiated by the Michigan Brewers Guild. It's located in Ypsilanti's Riverside Park in Depot Town, Michigan. It's a perfect summer getaway with scenic views of the Huron River and several parks that are good for all kinds of outdoor activities. Depot Town was founded in the 1830s and has many buildings constructed in 1850-1880.
The Michigan Brewers Guild uses drink tokens and specially marked cups, so attendees can provide a token for a sample. Fifteen tokens are included with admission and additional tokens are available on the site for 50 cents.
