Florida takes Halloween very seriously, with every city and town hosting parades or festivals in the last week of October. Disney World offers a special kids program called Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which begins as early as mid-August. Most Halloween events in Florida, however, take place from mid-September through October, providing a wide range of spooky and fun activities for all ages throughout the season.

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (August 9–October 31, 2024, on selected dates)

Experience the eerie and delightful fun at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Disneyland Florida's Magic Kingdom Park. This spirited celebration runs from 7:00 pm to midnight, with event tickets priced between $119 and $199. The evening is packed with enchanting activities and entertainment, including Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, where you can see your favorite Disney friends dressed in their Halloween costumes. The parade takes place at 8:15 pm and again at 11:15 pm.

Guests can enjoy trick-or-treating throughout the park, collecting sweets and treats at various stations. The night sky will come alive at 10:00 pm with Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular, a mesmerizing show featuring lasers, fireworks, and more. Don't miss the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, a wickedly fun celebration hosted by the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus at the Cinderella Castle stage. Adding to the magical atmosphere, Moonlight Melodies will have you bopping along to thrilling tunes and captivating entertainment throughout the night.

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Resort (August 30–November 3, 2024, on selected dates)

The most popular event in Orlando is Halloween Horror Nights, held at Universal Resort. Renowned for its grotesque and dark haunted houses and scare zones, this event runs from late August to early November. Each haunted house has a specific theme and decoration, leading visitors through a frightening dark maze filled with technical features designed to surprise, confuse, and terrify with a mix of lights, fog, and other effects. The outdoor scare zones also follow a theme, featuring fog machines, strobe lights, eerie decor, and people dressed as terrifying creatures. The event also features live entertainment and thrilling rides and attractions! Single-night tickets start at $82.99.

Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay (September 6–November 2, 2024, on selected dates)

Howl-O-Scream is held at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay in Tampa from late September to early November. This event features a more traditional Halloween setting, incorporating dark humor and scary scenery. Busch Gardens Howl-O-Scream returns in full force, taking over the entire park with haunted houses, scare zones, sinister shows, and more. From 7 pm until the park closes, guests can experience their favorite rides in the dark for an added thrill. Single-night tickets are available for $39.99.

Halloween in Miami (late October 2024)

Miami offers a wide range of Halloween activities, from club parties to family-friendly events. Among the numerous scary attractions and fun events during the Halloween season, one of the largest gatherings is the free Halloween Block Party at the Wynwood Marketplace in Downtown Miami. This event, held on Halloween Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm to 3 pm, features hundreds of zombies, warlocks, and witches, along with a variety of local food options from several dozen food trucks and dancing through the night.

Families with kids of all ages can participate in Halloween costume contests at Halloween on the Mile in Coral Gables on October 31 or enjoy the festive animal enrichment during Zoo Boo at Zoo Miami on the last weekend of October.
