Steamboat Springs Hot Air Balloon Rodeo 2024

Watch the sky fill with over 25 giant balloons

Dates: July 26–28, 2024

Steamboat Springs Hot Air Balloon Rodeo, also known as The Yampa Valley Balloon Rodeo, is held every summer in Steamboat Springs in northern Colorado. The area is famous for its ski resorts, geothermal hot springs, and great hiking. Thousands of people gather to see two dozen colorful balloons soaring over Bald Eagle Lake, creating a spectacular sight!

Ballon Launches and Other Highlighta

Hot air balloons are launched over the Yampa Valley on Saturday and Sunday, early in the morning. Balloons begin to ascend at 6:30 am. Over 25 balloons fly over Steamboat Springs in the morning, participating in the annual Hot Air Balloon Rodeo. The earlier you come to the launch grounds, the better the photography options that you will have. But there's more to see than just hot air balloons! The public can enjoy live music, shopping, and food. Fun events during the rodeo include entertaining contests such as dipping into Bald Eagle Lake. And since balloon pilots are usually pretty competitive, you’re guaranteed a fantastic performance. The festival grounds are situated on Highway 40, about a mile south of Walton Creek Road.

The Steamboat Hot Air Balloon Rodeo is open to the public with free admission. For the latest updates, please check with the official website (see External Resources below.)
