The Old Buckenham Airshow is a jawdropping aviation event taking place every summer at Old Buckenham Airfield in Norfolk. The award-winning airshow, included in Country Life's list of the 100 Greatest Summer Events Ever, is known for featuring the greatest aircraft from the last eight decades. It also showcases the very best pilots in aviation.
Four-hour aerial displays consist of at least 18 thrilling acts. Headliners include Beechcraft Staggerwing, P-51 Mustang WWII fighter, Supermarine Spitfire Mk IX MH434, The Last Dogfight, and Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress. In addition, there are many displays on the ground, in particular, a range of military vehicles, classic cars, living history displays, including the Normandy Barn. Entertainment includes live acts from award-winning musicians at the Blister Hangar, Funfair for kids, the Family Centre as well as Attack and Destroy Bar and the Food Village.
Old Buckenham Airfield was part of a former Royal Air Force Station, operated during the Second World War by the United States. It was home to B-24 Liberators used in bombardments of Germany. It's hard to find a more atmospheric space for an airshow than Old Buckenham!
