The Balloon Festival spans three days and features an array of enjoyable activities, such as hot air balloon rides, a parade, helicopter excursions, a kite festival, a car show, and various other attractions. Since 1998, an annual Sunflower Balloon Fest has boasted beautiful balloons of all shapes and colors on the municipal airport's grounds.
Schedule of Events
Of course, the main attraction is the breathtaking display of hot air balloons filling the skies, with balloonists from across the United States joining in to add color and excitement to the event. The events run from 6 am to 10 pm daily. During the occasion, you can try hot air balloon rides ($275) lasting 45 minutes, with launch times on Friday & Saturday evenings at 6-7 pm and Saturday & Sunday mornings at 6:30-7:30 am. Tethered rides are available on Friday and Saturday evenings ($20 for adults, $10 for kids 12 and under), weather permitting. Balloon Glow is scheduled daily at 8 pm.

The Sunflower Balloon Fest is a fantastic gathering that offers a wide range of activities for kids and adults alike. From the Show & Shine Car Show and Dunk Booth to the Parade, Ax Throwing, and a variety of Food and Craft Vendors, there's something for everyone. Additionally, attendees can enjoy Helicopter Rides, a Flight Simulator, Games, Live Music, and a lively Street Dance.

Admission to the Sunflower Balloon Festival is free. The majority of balloon-themed events are scheduled to take place at Anthony Municipal Airport, located just 2.6 miles (4.2 km) away from Anthony and 63 miles (101 km) away from Wichita. However, throughout the festival, there will be plenty of entertaining activities and attractions to enjoy in the town of Anthony, Kansas.
