As one of Prague's two main squares—just a five-minute walk from Old Town Square—it buzzes with energy on New Year's Eve. A stage is typically set up in these squares, with a cultural program beginning around 6 pm and running through to midnight.

Be aware that Prague will be extremely crowded! If large crowds aren't your scene, it's best to steer clear of the city center on New Year's Eve. For those who enjoy lively celebrations, it's still a good idea to avoid the busiest areas, like Wenceslas Square, and seek out a less congested spot along the riverfront or in one of the city's other scenic viewpoints.

Throughout the night, bars and stalls serve up excellent Czech beer and warming mulled wine for those ready to celebrate into the early hours. Many of Prague's restaurants, bars, clubs, and river cruises organize special entertainment schedules so guests can enjoy the city's spectacular fireworks. Most venues also include Champagne or sparkling wine in the price of admission, adding a festive touch to the celebration.

There are still many smaller private firework displays, which are bursting in color over Prague right at midnight. Besides the most popular locations on the shores of the river that we mentioned earlier, you can spot fireworks at Letna Park, Vysehrad, and Petrin Hill.

El 1 de enero solía haber un espectáculo oficial de fuegos artificiales municipales, programado para las 6 pm y lanzado desde el Parque Letná.
