The hottest month in San Francisco is September. However, rains are gradually coming back. Early to mid-autumn time is also praised for great surfing opportunities.
October is still warm enough, but no longer rainless—at this point, the rainy season starts all over again. Great surfing is promised until mid-October. Trees please the sight with a variety of fall colours, which are the most splendid by the end of the month.
The beautiful fall foliage is still enjoyable in the beginning of November, but frequent rains will clean the colours out. The month marks an abrupt rise in the rainfall amount, indicating the coming peak of the wet season. It gets damper and colder.
