Lake Tahoe

The best times to visit Lake Tahoe are from March to May and from September to November, but the summer season also has plenty to offer despite the high temperatures. For example, you can always go on a scenic road trip around the Lake Tahoe area. Another great way to cool off during the hot summer days is to visit the South Yuba River swimming holes or try paddleboarding. From April to June, spend time at Bassi Falls or take a trip to Monitor Pass. From May to October, explore Desolation Wilderness with its dozens of trails and lakes. You can enjoy Lake Tahoe's fall colors from October to early November, and while you're there, check out the Lake Tahoe Marathon. And, of course, the astonishing scenery and a wide range of activities continue to attract visitors to Lake Tahoe each winter.
