Best time: December, January, February

Winter

Winters in Vancouver are usually cold and wet, but mild compared to the rest of the country. The snowfall is also very low as far as Canada goes, but sometimes there can be extremely heavy but short lasting snowfalls.

The coldest month is January, while December and February are a little bit warmer. You will find rain and ocean fog very often here. However, you can find some amazing places for winter sport activities. Thousands of enthusiasts come to the winter slopes to the surrounding highlands, but if you want to discover the city itself, winter is not the best season to come. Rains are really frequent, as it is the wettest season in Vancouver, so be sure to bring some warm waterproof clothes with you.
