Every May, on Victoria Day weekend, the town of Surrey becomes the place to be. The Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair is an event for the whole family and not to be missed. Around 100,000 people attend this event annually. Over 20,000 go straight to the rodeo shows, while others tend to check out the other attractions.
The Saturday day event starts with a huge parade at 10 a.m. There is one rodeo show on Saturday and two on Sunday. At the fairgrounds, you'll find a wide range of activities. For rodeo fans there will be cowboy competitions, bareback riding, barrel racing, bronco riding, bull riding, and mutton busting. You can also find lumberjack shows and dozens of rides. The BBQ Rib Fest and country music performances create a fun and laid-back atmosphere. There is also a kid-zone and a petting zoo which includes miniature donkeys, llamas, alpacas, sheep, horses, pigs, and more!
