Dates: August 13-17, 2024

Clackamas County Fair & Canby Rodeo has been gathering families at Clackamas County Fairgrounds, Canby, every August since 1907. The five-day program of events offers something for the entire family. Experience the joy of the carnival rides, explore the animals at livestock exhibits and competitions, see rodeo activities, and enjoy fair foods and live entertainment.

Fair Program

Each day of the Clackamas County Fair has its theme, dedicated to either families, senior citizens, first responders, the military, or agriculture. As a bonus, each new day offers exclusive deals and specials, such as discounted admission fees or livestock auction sales. Canby Kiwanis Kiddie Parade officially kicks off the fair with hundreds of children and their parents marching with decorated bikes and attire. The procession sets off from Knight School on August 13th at 10 am and stops at the fairgrounds.

While at the fair, walk through the exhibition area and explore numerous livestock and agricultural displays. Some are more creative than others and feature textile, quilts, and photography showpieces. Besides the exhibits, consider exploring the rest of the fairgrounds and try out various entertainment options. Organizers go all out for the fair and set up numerous games and contests for visitors' amusement.

Additionally, Oregon's best musicians and artists come up on the stage of the fair and perform beloved music hits and new compositions. This year, the lineup features Mark Wilder, Olivia Harms, Overbridge Jazz Band, Newspaper Taxi Band, John Nilsen, and many others. Attendees can also give a shot at being a star by participating in the Talent Search contest, meant to showcase the up-and-coming artists.

Carnival Rides

No fair goes by without midway rides, and the Clackamas County Fair is no exception. Organized by Funtastic, the carnival immerses you in the vibrant world of thrill and amusement. Among the fairground attractions, you'll find traditional carousels and slides, as well as gator, boat, and train rides. Additionally, there's no shortage of arcade games at the venue. Carnival starts operating at 11 am. One ride ticket costs $0,60, but you are free to purchase a ticket package. For example, 34 tickets cost $20, 68 cost $40, and so on.

Canby Rodeo

While the fair has its fair share of entertainment, the peak fun brought by the Canby Rodeo begins in the evening, at 7:30 pm on all days of the fair. First held in 1958, the rodeo gives the spotlight to the cowboys and cowgirls of the area, who entertain the public with their skills. Barrel racing, bronc riding, and steer wrestling are just some of the shows you'll have a chance to witness at the fairgrounds.

Tickets to rodeo shows need to be bought separately from the fair admission. The ticket cost ranges from $13 to $38 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and from $15 to $35 on Friday and Saturday.

Food & Beverages

If you suddenly get a craving during all the fun of the fair, stop by any of the food vendors offering fare and drinks. The food options include traditional fair snacks, like cotton candy, frozen yogurt, kettle corn, and funnel cakes. To sate your thirst, consider some lemonade, floats, bubble tea or soda.

Admission to the fair costs $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and children between 7 and 12 years old. Children aged 6 and younger, as well as the elderly who are older than 75 years old, can enter for free.
