Richmond Fair Parade
Perhaps the most-anticipated event of the weekend, the Richmond Fair parade has been a long-standing annual tradition, bringing together residents of Richmond and guests of the city. The parade takes place on Saturday at 11 am, with local businesses and farmers sprucing up their vehicles with creative decorations. Spectators cheer on the participants all along the procession's route, which begins at South Carleton High School, continues to McBean Street, moves on to Perth Street, and finally stops at the Richmond fairgrounds.
Agricultural Exhibits
First held in 1844, Richmond Fair has always prided itself in being the prime spot to witness fascinating livestock, homestead, and horticulture displays. From cattle shows, flowers, and hand-made quilts to antiques, scarecrows, and vegetables, the exhibition space is a great space to both educate yourself on the local farming scene as well as enjoy your time at the fair. Canadian folks might also enjoy a great selection of maple syrups, showcased at the fairgrounds.
Entertainment Events
Besides the exhibits, the fair offers plenty of traditional festival fun, such as midway rides, tractor pulls, games, and demolition derby. Children have a chance to explore Kiddyland, a special area with children's entertainment, as well as take part in a thrilling scavenger hunt with prizes. Local musicians from Ottawa perform country and rock hits, entertaining the crowds on all days of the fair.

Richmond Fair operates from 4 pm to 10:30 pm on Thursday and from 10 am until midnight on Friday. On Saturday, the fairgrounds are open from 9 am until 12 am, while on Sunday, they're open from 9 am until 5 pm.
