Caldwell Night Rodeo 2024 in Idaho

Idaho's premier outdoor rodeo and one of the top 5, nationwide

Dates: August 13-17, 2024

Caldwell Night Rodeo (CNR) is an authentic Western experience featuring over 700 top professional cowboys and cowgirls at the historic Caldwell Night Rodeo Arena every August.

One of the largest annual events in Caldwell, Idaho, attracts over 50,000 fans, not just from the U.S. but also from Greece, the Netherlands, and France. The event is included in the list of the nation’s Top 20 Professional Rodeos and Top 5 Large Outdoor Rodeos. It was also rated second best in the U.S. by Great American Country Magazine. Contestors compete in seven main categories: bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc, tie-down roping, barrel racing, and bull riding.

CNR History

Caldwell Night Rodeo dates back to 1935 when it served the favourite summertime fun for Idaho ranchers. In 1965, CNR went bankrupt because of rare torrential downpours, which lasted for the whole rodeo week. In 2015-2017 2016, CNR was heralded as Canyon County’s #1 Large Outdoor Family Event, and it secured a spot among the Top 10 Rodeos in the US by Real Time Cowboy Magazine.
