With its snowy ski resorts and stunning national parks, Salt Lake City experiences an influx of visitors during the winter (November-March) and summer seasons (June-August). Winter sports enthusiasts flock to the slopes of Wasatch Mountains, while hikers and nature lovers line up to enter conservation areas of Zion National Park. The accommodation prices are notoriously high during both seasons. If you'd like to enjoy the outdoors and save some money, the best time to visit is in September-October, when the summer heat is still lingering, and fall foliage starts showing its colors. The city also hosts several events during the fall, including the Utah State Fair. Spring is relatively short in Salt Lake City, spanning from April through May. The weather can get quite soggy due to snowmelt.
