Swiss Wine Festival 2024 in Indiana

A wine festival that takes place in one of the best Midwest small towns, where you can celebrate the end of summer

Enjoy a four-day Swiss Wine Festival in the town of Vevay, one of the Best Midwest Small Towns, as voted on by USA Today readers. The festival offers not only opportunities to taste different wine flours but also to spend time in the scenic area with a full-packed program of events, which will be interesting for both beginners and experienced wine lovers.

Festival Events and Activities

The Swiss Wine Festival is an event that can surprise quests with different backgrounds in wine culture. You can simply visit the Tasting Pavilion to enjoy vine degustations or add some fun activities like the Swiss Wine Wrestling Supershow, the Little Miss and Mister Pageant, the Firefighter Waterball Tournament, the Swiss Wine 5K River Walk/Run, the Grape Stomp Competition, or attend one of the many live concerts.

Festival Music Lineup

The 2024 festival's stage will host such great bands as Misty Creek Band, Rock Steady Band, Cody Ikerd and the Sidewinders, The Classic Rock Experience, and Past Our Prime. All the concerts will take place at Main Stage, Festival Stage, or Beer Garden.

2024 Festival Schedule

Thursday

The first day of the Swiss Wine Festival, August 22, will kick off with Beer and Jessop Amusements from 5-11 pm. The McKay Family Farms LLC will start at 5 pm, and the Little Swiss Polka Dancers Show will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Don't miss the National Anthem and Opening Ceremonies at 6:15-6:30 pm, and afterwards, attend the Little Miss and Mister Pageant, taking place at 7-7:45 pm.

Mike Hemmelgarn Show will entertain the public from 7 to 7:45 pm. Additionally, the Swiss Wine Wrestling Supershow will begin at 7 pm and will last until 9 pm. The Edelweiss Princess Scholarship Pageant from 8:15-9:15 pm and Misty Creek Band from 8:30-midnite will end this busy day.

Friday

On Friday, August 23, the festival will hold events from 3 pm to 2 am and will feature the Beer and Jessop Amusements from 5 to 11 pm, the McKay Family Farms LLC at 3 pm, Mike Hemmelgarn Show from 6 to 6:45 pm and from 8 until 9 pm, Kiera Otter performance from 6 to 7 pm. The Grape Stomp Competition will take place at 7 pm. Cody Ikerd and the Sidewinders and Rock Steady Band will close the program, performing from 8 pm to 1:30 pm.

Saturday

On Saturday, August 24, festival events will run from 11 am to 2 am. The Swiss Wine Festival will start with the grand Swiss Wine 5K River Walk/Run at 8 am, followed by the Grand Festival Parade at 10 am. Then, the festival guests can enjoy Beer and Jessop Amusements from 11 am to 11 pm. McKay Family Farms LLC at noon and Kiera Otter performances from 12 until 1 pm and from 3:30 to 4:30 pm.

The Swiss Ambassador Program will take place from 1:30 to 3:00 pm, and the Grape Stomp Competition will start at 12:30 pm. Attendees can enjoy the Mike Hemmelgarn show from 1:30 to 2:30 pm, and then visit Classic Rock Experience from 5-6 pm and 7-8 pm. The Little Swiss Polka Dancers will run the one-hour show from 6 to 7 pm. Thunderstruck: America's AC/DC and Past Our Prime Band will entertain festival guests from 8 pm to 2 am.

Sunday

The last festival day, August 25, will take place from 10:30 and will end at 4 pm, featuring the Beer and Jessop Amusements (12-4 pm), Community Church Service (10:30-11:45 am), McKay Family Farms LLC (11 am), Cornhole Tournament (noon), the Firefighter Waterball Tournament, Little Swiss Polka Dancers show (12-1:00 pm), the Mike Hemmelgarn show (1-2 pm and 3-4 pm), and the Grape Stomp Competition (1:30 pm).

Admission

The Swiss Wine Festival is a free event; however, some events require admission. Amusement Rides Wristband costs $25, The Wine & Spirits Tasting Pavilion is $25 per person, the Beer Pavilion is $5 per person, and the Swiss Wine Festival 5K Race Fee is $20 plus a $2.20 sign-up fee.
