An annual celebration of the customs and culture of the Renaissance era, the Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire is a world of knights and maidens. The faire creates an authentic atmosphere with period costumes, decorations, and entertainment, allowing visitors to feel like they've traveled back in time.
Date, location and tickets
This year's festival offers an interesting program from April 27 to May 26. Each weekend is dedicated to a certain theme: Celtic, fantasy, cirque de faire, pirates, and Vikings. Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire is held at Swifty Farms, which is within 9 miles away from Seymour city center.
Guests can purchase a ticket for the entire festival season (adult (ages 13+)—$89.95, children (ages 5-12)—$49.95. Children 4 and under—free entrance) for the selected weekend adult (ages 13+)—$35.00, children (ages 5-12)—$20.00 Children 4 and under—free entrance), or for one day (adult (ages 13+)—$18.00, children (ages 5-12)—$10.00. Children 4 and under—free entrance). Events will run from 10:00 am–10:00 pm every weekend.
The organizers warn that May 17 is Student Day. Student tickets are $5 and adults—$10. Students must be accompanied by an adult. Entertainers will be doing special shows for students. Discounted ticket sales are available at the gate only. Guests cannot attend the festival with pets or service animals in training.
Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire Fantasy: events and activities
Visitors can relive the era of knights, princesses, and wizards at the Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire Fantasy Weekend. Live performances, like jousting, sword fighting, and musical events, are what fills the weekend. Tourists can also browse the artisan market, which offers one-of-a-kind handmade items, such as ceramics, apparel, and jewelry. In addition to meeting fairytale characters, like fairies and dragons, visitors may engage in other games and activities, including archery and face painting.
Visitors can enjoy a wide range of entertainment options suitable for all ages. From thrilling jousting tournaments and stage performances to lively musical acts and interactive games, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Vendors selling food and drinks with a range of Renaissance-inspired cuisine, including turkey legs, mead, and ale, are present on both weekends. Visitors are advised to put on medieval or pirate-themed costume for a complete Middle-Ages experience.
