Sarasota Medieval Fair at Woods of Mallaranny in Florida is the place to go if you're looking for a rare and exciting event. With an eye for medieval culture, this fair provides a genuine glimpse into Middle-Ages life, replete with jousting knights, wandering minstrels, and delectable food. Plenty of vendors will sell anything from homemade goods to armor and weapons, so visitors will be spoilt for choice.

Fair Highlights

Jousting is one of the main highlights of the fair. New Riders of the Golden Age present staged theatrical medieval jousts with period equipment and authentic full-contact combat. The riders use amazing Belgian, Percheron, Shire, and Clydesdale horses and full suits of period-designed tilting armor. Human Combat Chess is an action-packed performance that recreates the Battle of Agincourt between the English and French armies in 1415 A.D. Other interesting performances include fire eating, juggling, birds of prey, martial arts, and a wooden wheel of death.

Plenty of family-friendly entertainment is available at Children's Realm, including free activities and performances meant to entertain and educate the young guests on the history, culture, and traditions of the Renaissance period.

Sarasota Medieval Fair Events

Festival guests can also enjoy Human Combat Chess (all five weekends), an action-packed show featuring live actors as chess pieces; The Martika Show (November 9-11), which takes the audience on a journey through some of Martika's death-defying adventures; Aaron Bonk’s Fire Whips & Swords (November 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, 30 – December 1), a 3-time International Performance Champion and 5-time Guinness World Record holder with a crazy show; Shake, Rattle & Rogue performances (November 23-24, November 30 – December 1); St. Nikolaus Celebration (November 30 – December 1); and many more exciting events.

Festival Hours

The Sarasota Medieval Fair runs on Saturdays and Sundays and Veterans Monday from 10 am to 5:30 pm.

Tickets and Parking

General admission is $24.95. Children aged 4-10 pay $12.95, and children aged 3 and under get in for free. Seniors, students, and military personnel receive discounted admission at $20.95. Visitors can also purchase an Adult 2-Day Flex Pass for $43.95, a Child 2-Day Flex Pass for $27.95, or Season Passes for adults ($165.95) and children ($106.95).

Parking is free. If you wish to enjoy the fair with fewer crowds, the opening weekend is the best time to come. Also, crowds are typically thinner on Sundays than on Saturdays.

Wheelchair and Motorized Wheelchairs Accessibility

Taking place in a natural, park-like setting, the festival is an outdoor event. The park is generally wheelchair-accessible, so attendees are welcome to use their own wheelchairs or single-passenger ECVs.

Pet Policy

Pets or other animals are are not allowed at the festival, with the exception of service animals.
