The Central Missouri Renaissance Festival is an annual celebration of the medieval era's history, culture, and art. Visitors are welcome to come and join the various awesome festivities. The Central Missouri Renaissance Festival takes place at Kingdom City Fairgrounds, located in Callaway County, in proximity to Jefferson City and Columbia, Missouri. The festival falls on the weekends in April, May, and October.
Guests can step back in time and find themselves in Carlingford, a village in the northeast of Ireland, between the waters of Carlingford Lough and Slieve Foye mountain. Carlingford has endured the Viking invasion, the rule of Kings, Medieval wars, and periods of prosperity. It's full of adventures and colorful characters walking its streets.
Festival program
Once you arrive in Carlingford, you can engage in one of the many awesome activities. In addition to classic fun options, such as theater, comedy, and music shows, you can also witness themed entertainment, like jousting competitions, sword fights, and Medieval displays. The festival grounds host several stages and a grass arena. A rotating cast of live musical acts includes Celtic and Renaissance music bands. Guests can immerse themselves in a medieval atmosphere and get entertained by musicians, minstrels, dancers, magicians, ruthless pirates, and jesters. Participate in games of skill, such as archery, and enjoy feasting on Renaissance food and drink, like a king! Witness full-contact battles with noble knights competing to defend their lady's honor!
Marketplace
Another cool place to check out is a marketplace with handmade goods, jewelry, and clothing. Over 50 merchants showcase their unique wares, while Craft Guild offers unique demonstrations. The public can see painters, sculptors, potters, wood workers, metal workers, leatherworkers, or tailors at work. In addition, there will be numerous food and beverage stands with authentic Renaissance cuisine to hit the spot.
