Kimmswick Apple Butter Festival 2024

Indulge in the freshly made delectable spread and live entertainment

Dates: October 26-27, 2024

Apple Butter Festival in Kimmswick, Missouri, is an annual occasion, scheduled for the last full weekend of October, rain or shine. The celebration highlights tons of fragrant apple spread and riveting festivities throughout the quaint town. Expect to shop from about 600 food and craft vendors and listen to live music, featuring bluegrass, dulcimer, and country rock. The organizers offer a host of activities to keep your kiddos occupied too, namely train rides, pony rides, inflatables, bounce houses, climbing walls, and face painters.

Kimmswick Apple Butter Festival runs from 10 am through 5 pm, drawing over 100,000 visitors on Saturday and Sunday. Yet, the Kimmswick Historical Society, presenting the event, gathers on Friday to prepare the apples. On each festival day, the cooking starts early, before dawn. The cooks light the fire, fill the kettle with apples, and stir fruits for up to eight hours to get the spread thick enough and ready to be sealed in jars. Then, the product is for sale. Note that everyone is welcome at the pavilion to help with stirring.

You can park at the Windsor School or off Highway K. The shuttle buses to the town will be available at the Windsor School Campus.
