The stacked schedule of events showcases a hundred craft and food vendors, live entertainment from local artists, disparate children's activities, and contests, such as Apple Bake for adults or Baby Apple Cheeks for the youngest visitors.
Apple Bake
The Apple Bake Contest is a chance to try your cooking skills and showcase a master recipe featuring fresh apples as the main ingredient. Judging is done by a point system with a total of 25 points possible, awarded based on appearance, texture or crumb, taste, and degree of difficulty/creativity.
Baby Apple Cheeks
The contest is open to children aged 3 months to 4 years. Entry fee costs $10, with a $5.00 fee for each additional sibling.
Fort Allen Antique Farm Equipment
One of the specialties at Delmont Apple' n Arts Festival is Fort Allen Antique Farm Equipment, featuring live demonstrations, old-fashioned tractors, and a rare apple press dating back to 1907. The festival offers a unique opportunity to observe this ancient apple press in action and indulge in some of the best apple ciders ever made by this very device.
Festival Hours
The gates are open from 10 am through 6 pm on Saturday and 11 am through 5 pm on Sunday.
Location and Parking
Delmont is located in Westmoreland County, about 25 miles (40 km) east of Downtown Pittsburgh. You should follow the Red Apple Signs to get to the festival grounds. Find the official on-site parking at Contact Place and leave your vehicle at a $7-$10 donation. Alternative parking is available at Eastview Cemetary across from the Salvation Army Service Center. Shuttle buses operate continually from the parking area to the festival.
Community Supporting
Beyond apple treats and fun activities, the Delmont Apple Festival provides everyone with the opportunity to support the local community. The funds raised at the celebration go towards the initiatives geared towards benefiting various organizations in Delmont, namely libraries, the boy scouts, youth groups, and the food bank. Organizers donate about $10,000 to local charities yearly.
