Festival History

The Romeo Peach Festival has been running strong since 1931! The second oldest festival in the state, it was initiated by the village president, Edward E. Jacob who decided to promote local peach orchards and the economic growth of the area. The festival started with the Peach Queen Pageant, the Floral Parade, a Juvenile Parade for children, and a Mummers Parade to add some fun and excitement. Some events have run continuously from 1931 through 1973. Gradually, new events have been added, and the festival has expanded into the community's most coveted Labor Day Weekend tradition. The celebration is presented by the Romeo Lions Club, located in the village of Romeo.
