Upstate Renaissance Faire 2024 in South Carolina

Upstate Renaissance Faire in Greer, South Carolina, recreates the splendor of the Middle Ages over two days in early September. As soon as you step into Greer City Park, you'll capture the vibes of the period with all its glory and pageantry. Marvel at deft artisans fashioning intricate handmade fares, experience splendid performances, and indulge in the aromas of sizzling turkey legs and other treats fit for a medieval feast.

Events & Activities

The Knights Tournament offers spectators the chance to witness fierce armored matches as knights vie for honor and glory. Attendees can even test their own mettle by engaging in challenges against the knights. Live entertainment awaits, with jesters, minstrels, puppeteers, and fantasy characters captivating audiences with their performances. At the Artisan Marketplace, visitors can explore a diverse array of crafts, clothing, and jewelry skillfully crafted by talented artisans.

Indulge in a variety of medieval-inspired treats and hearty feasts that are sure to satisfy every palate. Children will be delighted by the offerings at Kids' Kingdom, where they can partake in games, face painting, animal interactions, and engaging hands-on activities. For those dressed in medieval attire, the Costume Contest presents an opportunity to showcase their finery and vie for fabulous prizes. Please note that the majority of children's activities are scheduled for Saturday.

Quest Experience

At the fair, attendees can choose from two unique questing experiences. In the Investigation quest, they aid the Council of Sovereigns in uncovering the mystery of the Cult of the Seen. Alternatively, participants can opt for Combat Training, where they hone their skills with various weapons and prepare to defend the realm when called upon by the Council.

Those who want to extend their Faire stay can try Caverns and Campfires, an interactive experience in which they become part of the story. Guests can interact with other characters, solve puzzles and mysteries, access special combat scenarios, try games of chance, and receive rewards. They can also create new characters and influence the next stage of the story.

Tickets & Schedule

Free admission is granted. VIP experiences, Questing ($15-25), and some activities require purchasing. The gates are open from 5 pm to 10 pm on Friday and 10 am to 8 pm on Saturday.

History of Upstate Renaissance Faire

The Upstate Renaissance Faire launched in 2021 as an initiative to rejuvenate small businesses following the challenges of the 2020 pandemic. Its inaugural year surpassed expectations, drawing in over 10,000 attendees. This achievement was thanks to the enthusiastic support of faire-goers, our dedicated team of organizers, talented vendors and performers, and the generosity of sponsors. Building on this momentum, the Faire is now aiming to establish itself as a cornerstone of Upstate culture.
