Vermont Renaissance Faire is an annual festival produced by Vermont Gatherings and held in Stowe. The main market traditionally takes place over a weekend in late June at the Events Fields, set at 80 Weeks Hill Road. But besides the summer edition, the organizers also throw a Winter Renaissance Festival over a weekend in early February. The latter runs indoors at Champlain Valley Exposition in Junction, 34 miles (55 km) west of Stowe. More information on each event can be found on Vermont Gatherings' official website or on Facebook, listed in the External Resources section.
Even though both editions are worth visiting, if you wish to enjoy the medieval ambiance to the fullest, we recommend making it to the Stowe in June. Vermont Renaissance Faire will mesmerize you with live entertainment by musicians, dancers, acrobats, and knights. Period games, historical demos, jousting, and encampments—all this and even more await you at the festival. Be ready to blend in with Vikings, pirates, fairies, jesters, and possibly a couple of unicorns. Also, be sure that meat and cider vendors will keep you full and content at the festivities.
