Lake Willoughby is a wonderful lake in the town of Westmore in Orleans County, Vermont. Its southern end is surrounded by the Willoughby State Forest, meaning this destination offers dramatic views in fall.

Basically, there are two peaks cradling the edges of Lake Willoughby, Mount Pisgah and Mount Hor. Hidden in the Willoughby State Forest, both mountains have great opportunities for hiking and numerous vistas and overlooks to enjoy the views. You can take the North Trail on Mount Pisgah for the best cliff views. The best time to see changing colors is from early September through October.
