Winter in Malta can be still sunny and warm. November and December temperatures average 10° to 18°C. January is the coldest month because of the northeasterly winds. However, this makes it hard to get to Gozo by ferry. But for other Maltese sightseeing, this season is perfect—both cheap and less crowded! The busiest period is from Christmas to New Year (most hotels will be busy but not fully booked). Don't miss La Valletta, the three fortified cities, Mdina Rabat, UNESCO ancient sites, Hypogeum, Comino, and the turquoise Blue Lagoon during winter!
