Each October, Valletta hosts the unique Notte Bianca festival, a nightlong celebration of art and culture that offers something special for everyone. Throughout the city, state palaces and museums open their doors for free visual art exhibitions and theatrical performances while musicians and dancers fill the streets and piazzas with vibrant performances. This enchanting event transforms the capital into a lively hub of creativity and community.
Programme
Karaoke ta' Vera provides participants with a unique opportunity to sing their favorite songs accompanied by a live band. Meanwhile, ŻiffaŻfin showcases contemporary dance, featuring hip-hop, parkour, and street dance flash mobs throughout Valletta. On the night of the festival, cafes, restaurants, and food stalls offer visitors a wide variety of late-night dining options, making it a vibrant and lively celebration for everyone.
Routes
The Festival offers various routes to help attendees explore the city more conveniently. The Alternative route invites lovers of music, arts, and culture to enjoy a fantastic end-of-summer concert at Laparelli, perfect for free spirits. The Classics route showcases creative projects that celebrate classical music and its great masters. The Kids route is designed especially for kids, while the Theatre route features comedic performances throughout Valletta, including roaming street theatre with improvisational elements. The Red Route entices the senses with sensual music and adult themes. In contrast, the Music route offers a diverse lineup, ranging from Jazz and Blues to Country, Classic Maltese songs, Cuban favorites, Italian classics, Brass bands, Rock ‘n’ Roll, and Pop music.
Transportation
Malta Public Transport will operate normally to Valletta, with some routes extended until late. Ferries will also be running from Sliema (Ferries) to Valletta (Water Polo Pitch) and from the Three Cities to Valletta (opposite the Barrakka Lift), with extended services operating until 2 am.
