London’s climate is dominated by the ocean. It’s always cool, humid and rainy. Weather here is a bit milder in London than in the rest of Britain due to its southern location. The city is also positioned in a sheltered area—London Basin. But sometimes when high pressure dominates the area during winter, it can cause night fogs.
Winter in London is rather chilly with quite frequent rains. However, it’s rarely freezing. When high pressure prevails, it gets close to 0 °C, it’s dark and foggy. When Atlantic currents bring warm air, the temperature is warmer, it's sunny and windy. Cold polar currents sometimes bring snow and frost for a short period of time.
