Spring is the best season to visit New Orleans. It is warmer and less cloudy than in winter, but cooler than in summer—just perfectly moderate and pleasant temperature. Even though the rainfalls are common, they are not as frequent as in summer and also less abundant than in winter, except the second half of May which is more like summer—quite hot and rainy. The season is also quite windy but it does not spoil the overall impression. And tourists come in endless masses to the city, especially during its worldwide celebrated Mardi Gras held either in late February or early March.
