Travelling to New Orleans in winter is not a bad idea. The weather is rather refreshing in comparison to the rest of the year. It is the coolest time, but still, frost is unknown to its townspeople. The average temperature of the coldest month January is 8 to 12 °C. Speaking of precipitation, instead of snow, it rains quite steadily in December and January and slightly less in February. The season is also known for strong winds, especially in February. Nevertheless, these winds do not spoil fine February weather. The month is actually considered the start of the high season when the temperatures are gradually rising to ideally moderate attracting more and more tourists.
