Even in winter, there’s a lot of sunshine in Switzerland, so if you like skiing you’ll have a great time enjoying the sun, the snow and the crisp air on one of many Alpine ski resorts. But be prepared for prices higher than the rest of the year during these months in the mountains, especially during Christmas and in February. The lowlands in Switzerland are warmer and snow is rare there. The weather in these parts of the country is typical for central Europe with cool days and frosty nights. January and February are the coldest months of the year.
