Between March and May, brightly coloured flowers, shades of red and green leaves and famed cherry blossoms magnificently line the streets. The temperature varies greatly throughout the day—coldest in the morning and warmest in daytime. Early spring is marked by sudden colds phenomenon, which is explained by Siberian cold air. It can lead to drop of temperature and freezing wind, so make sure you have a warm coat.
Another seasonal phenomenon is the Asian dust— sand which is carried by wind from the Gobi Desert can get as far as Korea. Strong northeasterly winds are also typical for this time. It is also the most dry time of the year which even leads to some fire hazards in the mountains.
