If you don’t mind a bit of hot and humid weather, make a midsummer visit to Buenos Aires. First of all, it is less crowded—locals leave their houses for ocean vacations.
The reason why locals dread Buenos Aires summers are the heat waves that occur quite often and sometimes lead to traffic jams and even protests. They don't usually last for more than a week, though. Heat waves are followed by periods of cooler weather and thunderstorms. Sometimes even tornados hit the Argentinian capital during the summer months.
