Wonderfruit is an annual festival that is held every December at The Fields at Siam Country Club, Pattaya, Chonburi Province of Thailand. The festival focuses on rock, indie, hip hop, electronic dance music, and other genres. But it also has many art installations, workshops, and discussions as well as tastings and banquets prepared by famous chefs. The four-day event attracts about 10,000 attendees.
Wonderfruit Festival was founded in 2014 by Thai production company Scratch First to bring modern festival experience to Thailand. Its previous lineups included Roots Manuva, Richie Hawtin, Izzy Bizu, Wild Beasts, Rudimental, Young Fathers, Lianne La Havas, De La Soul, Woodkid, Little Dragon, José González, Seth Troxler, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Submotion Orchestra, The Faint and Blonde Redhead.
Wonderfruit also encourages sustainability, social responsibility, and green lifestyle. Festival-goers can get biodegradable water bottles and drinks in biodegradable cups. There are discussions on productive agriculture the onsite farm, where Thailand Young Farmers grow organic fruits and vegetables: asparagus, mushrooms, mulberries, melons, salads, herbs, and pumpkins. In 2017 the festival donated a portion of its profits to the Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve in Borneo.
