Each year in early December, the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir (TMC) brings the joy of the season to life with the Festival of Carols. This beloved event has become a treasured holiday tradition in Toronto, drawing audiences to Yorkminster Park Baptist Church for an unforgettable evening of music and community.

Festival Highlights

TMC’s joyous celebration of seasonal music pieces is held at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church. The Choir is often joined by the famous Canadian Staff Band of the Salvation Army or by the Toronto Youth Choir, or it could be star musicians like internationally famous organist David Briggs. The audience is encouraged to participate in a carol sing-along.

Program

This year, the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir celebrates the 25th anniversary of the cherished Festival of Carols! Join Maestro Jean-Sébastien Vallée in singing along to beloved holiday classics and experience an evening of music sure to warm hearts and lift spirits. Adding to the festive celebration, enjoy a specially commissioned piece by Composer in Residence Aaron Manswell. The program traditionally features carols and other musical selections that beautifully capture the spirit of the season.

The festival will take place over two nights, on December 4 and 5, with admission starting at $25 plus a fee. Performances begin at 7:30 pm, so secure your tickets early to be part of this enchanting holiday event.
