Autumn in Yellowstone National Park 2025
The beginning of autumn is still warm and charming, while at the end of the season the cold and snow comes very quickly
Best time: late September, October, November
Autumn is a transitional time, thus the days are mostly warm and nights are freezing cold. The trees in the park are dyed into splendid colours of yellow, red, and golden hues. At the end of September and in October snowstorms can occur. But the snow will remain typically only at higher elevations. The real cold comes in November and heavy snowstorms as well. This month is more similar to winter than to fall.
