"Ripley's First Monday Trade Days" is a popular flea market in Mississippi. It started way back in 1893 and continues to be one of the most iconic events in the state. The "First Monday Days" takes place on the weekend before the first Monday of each month (hence the name).

The market is open from dawn to dusk, and you can easily reserve a seller's spot for $20 a day and $35 for two days. But even if you don't feel like selling stuff, you can stroll around the area as a visitor, enjoying the atmosphere of times "when life was simpler." Guests of the market can find literally anything there, including crafts, antiques, used stuff, new items, pet products, vintage and modern clothes, furniture, and stuff you would've never thought you'd come across at a flea market.

In addition to buying things and walking around the dusty isles, you can often spot visitors chatting, sharing gossip, snacking on hot dogs and other tasty foods, comparing prices, and so on. The event takes place at "First Monday Grounds" and has free admission. However, you may want to book your accommodation in advance as "Trade Days" is super popular, and the city gets very busy in terms of housing.
