The great thing about the peak season in the Peruvian mountains or in the Amazon region is that the area is so huge that if you try to omit the top tourist destinations, you will get lots of space and can find a place for quiet relaxation. Also, this part of the country is perfect to get lost in for example in June when most of the people try to celebrate the Festival of Sun in the cities, but small communities of the Amazon Region celebrate their own holiday of San Juan.
Unfortunately, if you decide to hit the most famous events or venues, like the Festival in Paucartambo or the lost city of Machu Picchu, then you will have to practice some patience.
