Since 2015, Los Cabos has been one of the places where the semi-Ironman 70.3 takes place. Unlike the classic Ironman, this triathlon is less rigorous and is suitable for more people. Competitors complete a 1.1-mile (1.9-km) swim off Playa Palmilla, a 55-mile (90-km) bike ride through the Tourist Corridor in Cabo San Lucas, and a 13-mile (21-km) run near San José del Cabo.
