A triathlon is a multiple-stage competition that traditionally includes swimming, running, and cycling. This sport has a long history in the small town of Aix-en-Provence since it has been a training location for triathletes from around the world for years. Some of the world's best athletes remain members of a renowned club Triathl'Aix. Now a triathlon competition called Ironman 70.3 takes place here annually.
The race begins with a swim in Peyrolles Lake near Aix, around 20 km away. After that, the athletes ride through the town of Pays d'Aix and head back to Aix-en-Provence for a half marathon run. The competition attracts hundreds of spectators and triathlon lovers every year. Join them and watch the skilled and enthusiastic athletes doing their best to complete the contest.
