The Tartu Maraton is a legendary 63 km cross-country ski race held at the end of February or the first weekend of March. This iconic event draws participants from around the globe to experience the beautiful rolling landscapes of South Estonia and a top-quality course, with up to 10,000 skiers taking part each year.

Event Highlights

The Tartu Maraton, one of the oldest and largest ski marathons in the world, has a rich history spanning 64 years, with its first race held in 1960. The event features the traditional 63 km marathon (CT) from Otepää to Elva, along with a shorter 31 km race (CT) that starts in Arula and ends in Elva. In 2025, the program will also include the 31 km FT, a Relay Race, the Tartu Maratoni Vintage, and children's races. Skiers can choose between the full-distance or shorter race options.

Kids Races

The Tartu Maraton Kids Races, held the day before the main marathon, welcomes children of all ages and skill levels to participate. Registration is required and can be completed online until February 15, 2025, with the option to register on the day of the event. The race will start at 11 am at Tartu's Tähtvere Sports Park. Entry fee is €4.

Entry Fees

The entry fees for the 2025 Tartu Maraton are as follows: for the 31 km CT, prices range from 60 € to 101 €, and for the 63 km CT, prices range from 80 € to 151 €, depending on the registration period. Youth discounts are available. Online registration is open until 5 pm February 15, 2025.
