Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) 2024 in Switzerland

Almost 8,000 participants, 2,000 volunteers and over 50,000 spectators. This is a unique adventure for professional trail runners from around the globe. It combines five races in one, each of them very difficult and needs mental and physical strength. Just to become a participant of this extraordinary race you have to get qualification points from other races.
The race takes the runners along the Tour du Mont Blanc through France, Italy and Switzerland. The total distance is around 166 km, and a total elevation is about 9,600 m. The race takes from 30 to 45 hours to finish, while the best of the best need around 20 hours to cross the finish line. There is no money prize, but still this race is on the bucket list of a great number of runners.
The route starts in a picturesque resort of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc (or simply Chamonix) in France and runs through the Alpine villages around Mont-Blanc, with accommodation points in Les Chapieux (France), Courmayeur (Italy), and Champex-Lac (Switzerland).
